Thoughts On Psalms: Unbending Esteem

Psalm 5:1-3
Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing.
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; morning by morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Notice first David’s unbending esteem for our God. There is no other and there should be no doubt in our hearts about that fact.

God hears not only our words, but He also hears our meditations. He knows the words on our hearts. We do not know what to say, but the Holy Spirit does and it is He that takes our prayers to the Throne.

God hears our cry. He sees us as we reach out to Him. Our relationship with Him is personal. It is warm. It is caring. It is most assuredly loving! With that kind of love between us, to whom else would we pray?

Morning by morning” brings with it the idea of consistency. David prays daily and prays often. We should not do any less. Not only does our God love us and we Him; our relationship is possessive. He owns us. He owns our hearts. He knows our thoughts.

Be on the look out for God’s answered prayers today and everyday. Be blessed. Be a blessing!
