Thank you for visiting the “Impartial Grace” website. This website was first entitled “Orchard Ministry.” The original focus was to post sermon messages and spiritual essays from an itinerant preacher. Over the course of time the focus has changed. The website is now entitled “Impartial Grace” and we are grateful to our Lord for it.
The ministry’s focus is taking a new direction, but it still advocates basic Christian doctrine. We believe God is sovereign over all now. Scripture declares He is. We believe God knitted each of us in our mother’s womb. Scripture declares He does. We believe when we die our bodies go into a grave and our spirits return to God Who gave it. (Ecclesiastes 12:7). We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. His Holy Word says He is. We believe He gave His life for the sin of the world. Scripture says He does. We believe He rose from the grave and walked among His people for 40 days, then ascended into Heaven. That is what scripture says. He reigns now from the Throne of God at the right hand of His Father. This is truth according to scripture. Jesus is Lord.
Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were heathen , you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led. Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.(1 Corinthians 12:1-3; WEB version, emphasis added)
We want to be clear, “Christ Jesus is Lord.” He is Lord over all. We cannot make the claim that “Jesus is Lord” without the power of the Holy Spirit. We preach “God is love.” We are simply Christian.
We are retired from the workforce, but fully engaged in a new vocation. The Lord led us to write and publish a book. “God’s Gift to Humanity: Hell or Reconciliation?” is a book that examines a particular “tradition of men.” Dr. Thomas Sawyer wrote “Eternal Punishment: In the Very Words of Its Advocates” in 1879. “God’s Gift” is modeled on Dr. Sawyer’s work.
I have written on things of importance to me. I did not write them on my own. Everything written, though, has attached to it a quiet prayer the Holy Spirit guides it.
I am grateful to my Lord for my marriage to my bride, Dian. Ours is a blended family of seven children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
We live in a small farming community southwest of Houston, Texas. Life is truly quiet and some would say boring, but it is a comfortable life. My wife and I agree that we are living in God’s grace today. Our yesterdays are history. Our tomorrows are figments of our imagination. Our today’s matter most. “This is a day the Lord has made, be glad and rejoice in it.” We sometimes get wrapped up in past events and seeking future retribution. The Holy Spirit reminds us to abide in Him and He abides in us. Not every day is heaven, but every day is spent in the Kingdom now.
Politically, my wife and I are becoming “agnostic.” We know enough to know what we think is right and what we think is wrong about the ways we are governed as Americans. We realize we each have a vote and we exercise that right. We are firmly convinced “God puts persons in positions of authority” over us. He has a will and His will is superior to all. If our country succeeds or fails it will be accredited to Him as He purposes it to be. We do our part and pray for our leaders.
Contact us. We pray for civil discussion. Our eyes are on Him. Our hearts are for Him. Forgive us if we have offended you.
Maranatha and God’s blessings.
