For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can’t live with you. The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity. You will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

David never loses sight of the fact that God is holy. God is righteous and does not tolerate wickedness in His presence. Without the saving grace of Jesus we would have no hope of being with Him in eternity.

There are arrogant people all around us. Some call themselves Believers. Boastful men and women cannot stand in the presence of God. He will not allow it. That being the case is it not wise to set aside those things we think make us better than the guy next to us?

God hates evil-doers. There are so many traps the devil has laid out to ensnare us in evil. Gossip, pursuit of wealth for wealth’s sake, power for ourselves or position to be greater than another are only a few snares the devil sets. All are evil. Should we not ask God to show us these and then steer clear of them?

A liar is especially vulnerable to God’s wrath. He destroys those who tell lies; even white lies. Lies don’t come in shades. All murderers are bloodthirsty and let us not forget what Jesus taught; think it and be convicted of having done it. Deceit is another act God abhors. Isn’t the truth a better way to go?

This is a good day to make a course change. Let’s ask God in prayer to deliver us from arrogant thoughts. Beseech Him to point out the evil practice in our lives. Make a serious effort to tell the truth in all things; if that cannot be done, then say nothing. Ask those who are offensive to us for their forgiveness and God will remove the anger within us; a murderous heart will be healed.
