I will tell of the decree. Yahweh said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father. Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Give sincere homage to the Son , lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
Let’s be thankful. The words of this Psalm are spoken by Jesus. These verses come from our Savior declaring the intent of our Father to make Him, the Christ and ruler over “the ends of the earth.” Jesus is the Son of God from all eternity and forever more. Jesus has universal dominion over our lives.
Let’s be thankful. We have nothing to fear in this world and everything to hope for in eternity. Jesus will rule with a righteous purpose. His authority will be an “iron scepter.” Those who trample on others, who think themselves higher than God will be judged, duly convicted and sentenced.
Let’s be thankful this is not our fate. Let’s be thankful. We have the blessing of His Holy Word. His Word is clear; “love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your body and all your soul.”
Let’s be thankful. Because we believe and follow The Way.
