The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
The ungodly are not planted by the waters. They do not have the benefit of Living Water. They will dry up and be like a fine dust easily scattered by the wind. They are not strong; do not bear fruit; are not prosperous. The ungodly person is not reliable.
We will all be judged. The ungodly will not have a Defender. They will be unable to “stand.” They will not have an argument to bolster their case. They won’t have a leg to stand on.
Jesus knows what the righteous do and He approves it. It is a critical point to make here; a person is not determined innocent or guilty by the way he lives his life. His judgment is based in the Impartial Grace that is Christ Jesus. The ungodly one refuses to acknowledge God and forfeits blessings in this temporal world. Pride and wealth are not blessings. Their way is overwhelmed by The Way. By His grace and because of His mercy they will eventually be reconciled to Him, but they will have no defense for their unrighteous lives.
